Blogger Reflection-Dentist website and survey form

One thing I learned about this project is how to create interfaces or forms that are user-friendly

and are able to be used by many people. Also during this project, I learned how to link

different web pages to the main site as well as how to create a form in HTML. However,

one thing that I would like to do differently if I were to recreate this project was to make

the site be less boring more inviting to the user’s eyes. I want to do this by maybe using

rounded corners instead of rectangles and maybe different colors. I could also use drop

down menus and checklists in order to make the form more interactive. One type of

website that I would like to create is maybe a website that showcases work I have

done such as projects and college essays that I have written and things like that.

I want to create something like this so when I apply to colleges to show them this

website and it can be a quick reflection of all the things I've done that they can

look at very easily and showcases my true talents

Blogger-Emerging Technologies

My favorite piece of tech in this video was the quantum stealth material because growing up we are used to seeing in many movies characters disappearing because of some futuristic holding that they have on that makes them invisible.  which in my opinion is just cool and can be used for a variety of purposes and it would just be very fun to have our own vows to scare people with. in addition growing up I washed every single movie in the Harry Potter series unfortunately and so I always wanted and invisibility cloak when I was little so this would be like a childhood dream come true if I could get one.

Some of the technology shown in this video will have positive effects on a human to such as the fusion reactors because this will allow us to achieve sustainable energy without damaging our environment and Earth. This same reasoning I think also applies to super algae which we can use as biofuels instead of electricity and gasoline. However, there are some downsides to some of the technologies that we developed in the future.  For example, we are able to use Ai to recreate people's faces and expressions. This may be fine for use in Hollywood movies and TV shows it can also be used in a negative way to put people in situations that they are not really in what can cause a whole lot of trouble for them. This deepfake Ai and get people into legal trouble as well as it can get countries into conflicts with one another if not treated carefully.

I think that Fusion Energy will be very helpful in the future as a way for us to protect our environment but still getting the energy we need. This is because Fusion energy does not produce the harmful radioactive materials that our current nuclear reactors produce. To add on Fusion Energy does not admit any greenhouse gases that destroyed our atmosphere or our air quality.  Furthermore, the materials needed for Fusion Energy can be found right in our oceans making the whole process lot cheaper and more efficient.

Website Trends 2020 : Web Design Like A Boss

My favorite website trend would be interactivity as it makes websites easier for the user to explore. In addition, if done correctly the user experience will also benefit as there will be more likely to come back can you refer the website experience to their friends. to add on interactivity also to me seems the most creative as you can include anything in the design so you won't be limited to what you can do. I also like this trend as it allows me to create different ways that users will be able to remember my website for a while and attract more people.

The trend that I would like to incorporate into my current website is minimal navigation. Just because my website is designed to help students look up different colleges which currently can be very complicated and takes a lot of research. In addition, current websites are very cluttered and require you to dive into menu menus and pages on some websites. With minimal navigation, my website will be a lot easier to find the information that students need about the certain college and they would like to apply for.

The trend that I do not like is immersive environments. this is because I feel it distracts from what you would want to use in a regular website in addition I feel like immersive environments can only be used for certain types of websites such as online games and really let me see you until what can do with your website where you can use it for. In addition, I feel like in immersive environments a lot more could go wrong in the user experience which could damage your reputation.

Event Web Page Research

An event page that I would like to create is a college fair and deadlines pages. While there are many websites that offer this information. Some are very confusing to navigate and most of the time you need to use many websites to get the information that you need. I would create a website where all colleges in the US would be able to post their events and deadlines for incoming students. This would be organized by states and each college would also be grouped by the majors they offer.

One thing I like about NYCAC college fair website is its straightforwardness. The information that you would want to is right on the front page. In addition, the menus are also very easy to navigate and register for events.
College fair website is my most favorite website because it is bright and vibrant. There are also additional resources to help you with your search. The website also includes college from all states and relevant information. To add on the website also groups colleges by their majors and events by fall or spring which is something I would like to include in my website.

The third website that I took inspiration from is the NYSACAC website because all the information needed can be found on the first page. There is also no clutter or irrelevant information that can distract you. In addition it also provides direct links to where you need to go to register for events.

Refection on HTML Lessons

Recently learning about the basics of CSS and HTML has shown me the many things that I could create with better knowledge of the two. Since they are the backbone of many things on the internet. One of the things I can create is a  website to show off anything I have done. I can upload clips of funny things I've done throughout the day to share with others. Or I can upload when I get the last kill COD.  Some other things I can create with CSS and HTML is my own blog. I can create it with my design and my own creations without having to be limited by a third party. I can also probably create a simple game like what google dino game. To add on I can also create pages that can advertise certain places or products. Or I can create certain pages to inform people about certain topics like politics or sports.

Computer Programming

Computer Science is the study of computers and their systems. Unlike other fields engineering fields computer scientists deal mostly with software and their systems. This includes the design aspect, development, and application of software or systems. Major areas of study within Computer Science include artificial intelligence, computer systems, and networks, security, database systems, numerical analysis, programming languages, software engineering. Knowing how to program is important to the study of computer science, it is not the only one element in the field. Computer scientists design and analyze algorithms to solve programs and study the performance of computer hardware and software. The problems that computer scientists encounter range from determining what problems can be solved with computers to designing applications that perform well on handheld devices.

If I knew more about computer science I would like to impact how people connect with each other online. This is because during this pandemic people were forced to work or go to school online. The problem with this is that many people don't have steady access to the internet or have little knowledge of how to use it. I would like to change this and make it easier for more people to connect with each other and to have more people be able to do it.

What Does A CTE Dipolma Mean To Me

There are three types of diplomas in NYC High Schools. They are a regents diploma, an advanced regents diploma, and a cte diploma. Each comes with its own set of different requirements. A regents diploma is for your basic classes as well as seven electives, An advanced regents diploma drops the elective requirement to three while increasing the number of LOTE credits needed to six. It also requires you to take a foreign language, regents. Cte diplomas and regents diploma both need seven electives. However, for the Cte diploma replaces your elective with a specialized cte class.

Achieving a CTE diploma would mean a lot to me personally. It would show that I was able to maintain my position in the Web Design Academy for 3 years. While also keeping my grades at a high level. To me, it would also show my perseverance as I would have to work hard in this 3-year program. It would also show that I was able to meet the expectations that my teacher had set for us. Graduating with a CTE diploma would also help me a great deal in the future. With a CTE diploma, it would help me separate myself from the competition as I would have something that most other applicants won't have. it would also show my employers that I would be able to work strat working straight out of high school or college.

Junior Year during COVID-19

Going into the 2020 school year I will be going into one of the most important years of my school life. It will be my junior year the year that colleges look the most at and stands out the most. So my expectations for this year were a little bit higher than they normally would be. Some of my expectations are the usual things maintain a 95 or above-average stay out trouble, stuff like that. I do have some new ones like trying to get above 1400 on the SAT and trying to make myself stand out as a student. One of my goals for this is to keep my head down and avoid drama. In my sophomore year, I was involved in a lot of it and it was shown in my grades and it really affected me negatively as a person so I hope to avoid it.
Like many people in the world, this current pandemic threw a wrench in everyone's plans. I had some big things planned that ill have to put off for about a year. As far as school goes during COVID I do have one thing that I am concerned about  As we did remote learning last year I found that I want really learning anything last I was just submitting my assignments. For Junior year that could be a problem as this is normally the year when the stuff you learn can help you a great deal in the future so I don't want to miss out on that

G4C - Scratch Impact Game

The game that I have created is called Cap or Facts. The game is basically a true or false game with each statement having something to do with juuling or other tobacco products. I created this game as a way for kids to learn the truth about juuling and tobacco so they don't make decisions based on wrong information.

G4C - Grow-A-Game

My first game idea is based on racism. The three cards that I picked were society, justice and yourself. This game has the player be a white lawyer in the mid-1950 having to defend his client a black man in a southern court system. The client is innocent and the lawyer must make decisions to try to prove this. The player can choose to want justice for his client or can be racist. This would be determined by the choices you make.

My second game idea is based on the idea of cleaner earth and the three cards that I got were Earth, garbage, person  The player moves back and forth and has to collect the garbage. However, if 5 pieces of garbage touch the earth the player will lose. In addition since in the modern world, a lot of our garbage can be recycled so if the player collects these they will lose. There will be different types of recyclables so that the player can know in real-life that these don't belong in the trash.

The third game idea that I have involves politics. This will also be a decision-based game with the player being a president who gets three choices. The choices will represent different opinions in America. However, some choices will divide the country more and some will bring it together. The goal of this game is to try and bring the country together and not destroy it. The point of this game is to get the player to think logically and support something because they belong to a certain group.

G4C - Impact Game Judge

This impact game that's called "Alpha Beat Cancer" is a game that actually teaches you something. When people play games they don't learn anything they play for fun. For this game, it has a series of challenges that health-related terms. Some things you learn in this game is how cancer cells affect healthy cells. I also learned that doctors and nurses must have a diagnosis of your symptoms before they can treat you. In addition, you also learn how bacteria are everywhere and what the marrow in your bones is.

Why do you think the game designers made this game?
Designers made this game to educate children on things they should know. In addition to providing a form of entertainment. The art style is cartoonish but is not that bad. If I had to design this game myself I would make some kind of hard difficulty or advanced level to give the player who wants a challenge. In addition, I would also make the game one whole story instead of the mini-challenges it had right now.

G4C - What is Scratch?

The game that I picked from Scratch was called Star Destroyer. The first block of code that I saw was about what to od when the game first starts. I believe this because it shows a flag symbol and says when clicked. When you first start the game there is a flag that you click on to start everything. The second block of code that I saw I think has to do when you die since it says when you die to stop all scripts.

G4C - Found Object Game

The game that I have created is an in house version of basketball with a twist. For this game, you would need 3 laundry bins, a roll of tape, and 6 small balls. They can be handball or stress balls. The rules of the games are simple. The player stands with his toes on the line of tape and shoot the balls into the bins. The bins would each be at a different distance with the farthest being worth 5 points and the closet being worth 1 with the middle one being worth 3.After 1 minute whoever has the most points after 3 rounds win. The rules for the game are very simple, there will be a straight line of tape where the payer must stand on with his toes on it and most not step over it. The bins should be 3 feet apart from each other in a straight line and the first bin should be four feet from the line of tape. This game when I tried with my sister was fun as you are never out of the fight since there are three rounds and you can always come back.

G4C - Goals, Obstacles & Chance

The mechanic's hat I decided to change in the game was that I decided were the invader shooting speed, patrol distance, and overall speed. This would make it harder for the player since the invaders would be moving around more and be faster. In addition, they would be shooting more while the player will have no more lives so they must do everything they can to protect themselves. In order to make this hard and not impossible the shooting delay will be gone allowing the player to immediately.

G4C - Core Mechanics

The game that I decided to add a mechanic to is tag into a new game called the hunter. In regular tag, you have a person who is it. The person who is it must chase the other player around the area and tag them. If u get tagged you are now it. Also in regular tag, you have a base which is a small area where you playing where players runnng from the it person can go and be safe. In hunter, this doesn't change how hunter adds the game mechanics avoiding for the it person. The hunter will be only one person and nobody will know who this person is. The hunters job is to tag the it person. However, he can only do this if 3/5 of the people who are running are tageg. For example, if seven people are playing, one person is the hunter, one is it and the five that are left are running. So if 3 of those 5 people are tagged. The hunter gets activated and must tag it player to win. The hunter cannot tag other players and cannot tag players who are not the original it person. The person who is it will be decided by drawing a paper with an x on it and cannot tell other players that they are the hunter.

G4C - Intro to Game Design

Tic Tac Toe is a simple game that has long been played with two people. My new Version Tic Tak Urself allows you to play with yourself. The game board changes a little with each box now having a number. However, the way you play changes. In order to start you first shuffle the two cards with X and O., The card you pick will be what you are and as always X is first. In order to simulate having another player. There is another set of cards with one to nine on them, each corresponds to a box on the board. Picking a card from the pile will simulate where the other player will place their symbol. After player 2 goes discard the number card and if u draw a card for player 2 and their symbol cannot be placed because your there just draw another card.

LAB Games for Change Student Challenge

During the G4C Student Challenge, I hope to learn how to make something that many people are able to like. As I've had made things before but not many people like it so hopefully this challenge can change it. One I am worried about is that I may not be able to finish as I would have a late start to the challenge. In addition to having to work from because of the Coronavirus and can get easily distracted but I still look forward to competing.

MP4 REFLECTION

In marking period four, we had our first Cte expo. This allowed us to show our skills from the previous semester to the freshmen class so they could join the web design academy. In order to do this, we each had to create a poster board outline of our experiences and how we feel about what we did. I decided to show the collages we did as it was an interesting time finds different pictures that I could mix together. In addition due to the limited amount of time, we had to work on our pitch. It needed to be short and precise while still giving the freshmen the information they need and answer any questions they may have. These skills will be important in the future as it will help us to share information or pitch our ideas in a professional manner that gets the information across.

We also had a trip to Viacom CBS. While there we got to meet people from the company and told us about there working experiences and how they got there. They had people from all different departments like animators and people who make household products. While there they gave us an activity to do. We were split into groups and each group had to design an app. The app could do whatever we want. However, we had to make a logo for the app as well as a home screen. This activity gave us useful skills for the future such as how to work with other people. For example, while we were designing the app we each had a different idea. but through us talking we were able to come up with one clear idea.

We started to get into how to solve problems. We started by making boats out of aluminum foil and had two attempts at getting the most pennies without the boat sinking. In order to love this problem, we followed a certain path that had us identify a problem, materials needed, how to solve, and how we can improve. We then had to use this knowledge of how to solve problems to redo Viacom apps so they were more cable of doing what we envisioned it to do.

SMART GOALS.

My smart goals for my sophomore year was to raise my average overall to a 97%. This may seem regular to some people but by me accomplishing it I would make me proud as it shows improvement from my freshmen year. In addition it will also make my family proud as in order to get to a good college which is what they want you need to be in the top 1 percent. A 97 average would go to show them that I can make it there and over come any distractions to accomplisy goal. Such as finding time to do any homework but I can alive this by planning my time ahead.

CTE TRIP REFLECTION

For career exploration week we went to the ViacomCBS office in Mahanhtan. to prepare for this, I did research on what the company does and who are the key figures of the company was. I expected the company to be fairly modern as it was pretty new and was located in NYC. At the visit to ViacomCBS, we met many of the met senior staff or head of departments from ViacomCBS. The senior staff shared their experiences of working at ViacomCBS and how they got there. Some career path that they talked about was graphic design and web design. While at  ViacomCBS, we saw different parts of the building like TRL studio. While at ViacomCBS, we were given an activity that required us to create an app and also design a wireframe. The app my team and I invented was IConnect which was an app that allowed us to connect to your smart devices in your home. I would recommend this to other students as while we were there I learned a lot and it kinda gave me ideas on where do I go in the future when I finish all my schooling. This trip was better than I expected and that was mostly because of the presenters. they were able to share information with us without us getting bored. and some presenters we were able to relate to.

MP3 reflection

Can you identify a large theme(s) running through the lessons?
In marking period 3, the focus of our work was typography. Typography is the use of type in design. Typography in graphic design can affect how people react to a design you create. Every choice a graphic designer makes has an effect on how people would react to what you want them to see.
What did you do in the labs?
The labs were filter lab, type kerning lab and many more. in the filter lab, we used images and converted them into Smart Objects. In the Filter lab, we added filters on top of our image to add an effect. Filters change the appearance of an image or part of an image by changing the shades & colors of the pixels away.  Although when using Smart Objects in Photoshop it preserves the image meaning it is a form of Non-Destructive Editing. Another lab we did was the Type Kerning lab. In this lab, we used the kerning function to alter and fix typed words by adding normal spacing.
Why are these skills important for a web designer?
These skills are important for a web designer because these skills can be used in the real world, on a job, For example, a company might ask you to edit a design to make it look more pleasing and would be able to do that without editing the image.

Filter Lab

Smart filters are an example of non destructive image editing because you are changing the way an image looks without changing it permanently.

Plastic wrap from the filter gallery wraps the image in a sort of plastic layer.

Poster edges make an image look like it like a comic book drawing.

Sponge filter adds noticeable dark spots on a image

Liquefy allows you to edit certain aspects of an image with extreme detail
 Liquify#1
 Liquify#2
Liquify#3

Gaussian blurs to image to how much you decide to reduce image noise and reduce detail.

Radial Blur-makes it look like there is more going on in a picture with a zoom or spin effect.

motion blur- blur the image to make it look like the subjects in the image are moving or the camera was moving.

distort twirl- adds a twirling effect to your image which can be adjusted using the slider
Render Lighting Effects-The Lighting Effects filter produces lighting effects on RGB images.
Pixelate Color Halftone- Color Halftone filter simulates the result of using a halftone screen on the layer. The filter divides the image into rectangles and replaces each rectangle with a circle. The circle size is proportional to the brightness of the rectangle.
Pixelate Crystallize-The Crystalize filter draws a layer as polygon-shaped batches of color. You can set the size of the crystals.
mosaic- turns the image places a grid  on the image in which each square fills with the color of the original color

Hour of Code

The Hour of Code is seven days where professionals teach kids about coding. On Monday, first day we did Hour of Code we had a visitor speaker, Michael Eizsel from Weav Music. Michael spoke on what Weav Music is and what he did for the appMichael whats its like to go in for a meeting. Additionally on Monday we did some coding, the coding we did was to make a few character move.

On Tuesday, we learn how to code with blocks so the next day we were able to teach a freshman class the next day. On Wednesday a class of freshmen came and we each picked a kid and taught them what we knew. The freshman I had already knew about hour of code so we were messing around making anything.Thursday we had visitor speaker Akiera Gilbert from Code.org, Akiera spoke about howshe is going to jails such as Rikers Island to show the detainees how to use tablets as a way to make the transition back into regular society smoother if they are to be released.

On Friday we had Chris Lai from Microsoft speak to us on video call. Chris explained some parts of coding and what he recently does regarding coding. Chris recently created an automated program for a game he was played in order to succeed in it.

South Asian Galleries at the Met Museum

I thought the museum architecture matched what i thought it would be as a grand open place. that would allow many people to view the different artworks they had. The exhibition rooms were easy to navigate allowing us to find different artworks and each room wasn't to crowded with too much. The artwork I saw was sculptures of different versions of a Buddhist god. They were made of different materials but each had a similar design with long ears and a bun on top of his head. I was kinda interested in the artwork as i knew that i would have to write a blog on what i saw. However i was surprised at how detailed each one was. The artwork kinda made me remember artwork of my religion as some of the sculptures looked like Hindu sculptures.

Collage by Clipping Mask

This collage had us pick a theme and make a collage using pictures that are related to that theme. The theme that I choose was American. This is why I used pictures of presidents and the Statue of Liberty because those are symbols that represent America. The background that I choose was the American flag since it represents American and fits nicely with my theme. A clipping mask is made up of different pictures. However, the pictures are only shown if they are within the boundaries of the bottom layer or the layer to which the photos are "slaved" to. A clipping mask is an example of non-destructive image editing since the original images can always be salvaged.

Three Masking Techniques.

The first composition involved us having to replicate a certain aspect of our picture several times. there are different ways to do this but the way I found easiest is by using the clone stamp tool. I did this by moving the clone stamp over the picture of the traffic signal. Then I proceeded to use the clone to copies of a part of my image. The Second Composition had us use two images on top of one another. And make a mask on the top image to reveal the second image underneath. The third composition had us make a mask of one image. then we had to take that mask and composite it onto another image. Masking is an example of non-destructive image adjustments since you can always edit the mask or delete it without doing anything permanent to your image.
